BMA Papua Tengah Inaugurates Two National Strategic Programs in Nabire

Nabire – The Central Papua Customary Deliberation Council (Badan Musyawarah Adat/BMA) officially launched two National Strategic Programs (PSN), namely the Merah Putih Cooperative (KMP) and the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, in Nifasi and Makimi Villages, Nabire Regency, on Sunday (September 28, 2025).

The declaration, attended by hundreds of local residents, was accompanied by the distribution of food aid packages to communities in the two villages.

Chairman of BMA Central Papua, Melkisedek F. I Rumawi, emphasized that the Merah Putih Cooperative serves as a collective platform to strengthen the community’s economic independence.
“This cooperative does not belong to an individual or a specific group, but to all citizens. Through it, we aim to face challenges together and prepare for a better future,” he said.

Melkisedek further explained that the MBG program reflects the central government’s genuine concern for the younger generation in Papua.
“Children are the nation’s future. By providing them with proper nutrition, they can grow to be healthy, intelligent, and resilient,” he added.

He also called on the community to maintain security and order so that development programs, including these two initiatives, can run smoothly.
“We must keep the spirit of unity alive. Let us show that the people of Central Papua are capable of rising and standing independently,” Melkisedek stressed.

On this occasion, BMA Central Papua also distributed hundreds of aid packages containing rice, eggs, milk, coffee, instant noodles, tea, and other basic necessities to residents of Nifasi and Makimi Villages.
