In Anticipation of KKB Disturbances, Lanny Jaya Police Conduct Fully Armed Patrols

Timika – In anticipation of disturbances by the armed criminal group (KKB), the Lanny Jayapura Police held a patrol.
Lanny Jaya Police Chief AKBP Umar Nasatekay said the patrols were carried out to monitor the security and social security situation ahead of the 2023 Christmas celebrations and the turn of 2024.
“This patrol is part of prevention to anticipate criminal acts and actions that will be carried out by certain groups,” he said.
The Police Chief said that there were 13 patrols carried out by joint personnel from both the Lanny Jaya Police and the Papua Police Mobile Brigade.
“The patrols carried out are around Tiom, Gurika Village, Onggeme village, Wamena-Tiom trans road, Pirime District, Indawa Village, Abuneri village, Makki Police Station, Tiom – Balingga trans road, Malagai District, Logom Village, Malagaineri District, Guningame village and then return to the Police Headquarters,” said the Police Chief.
Apart from patrols, said the police chief, the personnel involved also provided security and social security messages to maintain security ahead of Christmas and the general election.
“Security cannot be separated from the authorities alone, but the community is also involved in it. That’s why we continue to echo invitations like this,” explained the Police Chief.
