Jayapura – In an effort to strengthen harmonious relations between the Nusantara community and all religious groups in Papua Province, as well as indigenous communities who are guardians of security and well-being there, Barisan Merah Putih Republik Indonesia (BMRI)-Papua, represented by Max Abner Ohe, expressed their support for the central government and security forces.
Max Abner Ohe, the Chairman of BMRI-Papua and also a leader in the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP), stated that cooperation between the central government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has significantly contributed to maintaining security and promoting development in Papua.
He emphasized that cooperation between the central and local governments, as well as civil society organizations like the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP), the Papua Provincial Development Acceleration Board, the governor, DPRP, TNI, and Polri, is crucial in building Papua.
This is highlighted as a joint effort to maintain Papua as an integral part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
“In building Papua, no one can do it alone. Good cooperation and coordination among all parties are absolutely necessary,” said the Chairman of Barisan Merah Putih on Sunday (5/5/2024) at the national residence.
In this context, the aspirations of the people collected by various institutions serve as a starting point for regional governments to jointly take positive steps in Papua’s development.
This effort is not only related to physical infrastructure but also to upholding human rights and ensuring the well-being of all Papua’s communities.
With support from various stakeholders, including the central government, regional governments, and civil society organizations, it is hoped that Papua will remain a home for all its residents within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, towards the nation’s shared aspirations.
