Jayapura- The Joint Apparatus of Ops Peace Cartenz-2023 and Yahukimo Police managed to secure 3 members of the KKB (Armed Criminal Group) in the Yahukimo area, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountain Province, Friday, August 12, 2023. In the raid, one short-barreled assembled firearm and a number of evidence were secured by officers.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2023, Kombes Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos, S.I.K, M.H., when he was confirmed said, the chronology of the arrest of the three KKB members began with information received by IPDA SYAHRUDDIN, S.H by telephone that there had been a robbery and shooting using a firearm at the victim SYAIFUL EWA in the Social Road complex, Yahukimo Regency but the victim survived the shooting and the perpetrators managed to escape after the incident.
“After receiving this information, members of the Joint Yahukimo Police and the Cartenz-2023 Peace Ops Gakkum Task Force immediately responded by conducting a raid in the area, and during the raid, the officers saw the light from the cellphone about 100 meters from the Sekla Action Team Post.” Said Ka Ops Damai Cartenz.
Ka Ops continued, the results of the raid led to the arrest of 3 people suspected of being members of the Yahukimo Region KKB. Of the three people secured, one short-barreled firearm was found and a number of other evidence. The initials of the three people secured are “A.N” (14 years old, student), “L.K” (20 years old, private), and “W.K” alias Weko (20 years old, private).
He added, the evidence that was successfully secured included a short-barreled assembled firearm, a bayonet blade with a brown sheath and a red handle, a machete blade with a black handle, two traditional noken bags with Red-Blue-White and gray colors, two cellphones, and one 5.56mm caliber bullet and also other evidence. All the evidence has now been secured by officers at Yahukimo Police Station for further investigation.
