Jayapura _ Responding to the issue of child abductions in Papua, which has recently been troubling the community, causing conflicts that have claimed victims, such as the incident in Wamena some time ago, the Papuan Regional Police have received serious attention in conducting an investigation into the veracity of this information.

This was stated by the Director of General Crimes at the Papua Regional Police, Kombespol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.SOS, S.I.K, M.H. when questioned regarding this issue.

According to him, Until now, the Papua Regional Police and all police ranks have not received any reports of public complaints about child abduction cases that have occurred in Papua.

“We have not received any reports of public complaints about children being kidnapped. And from the results of our investigation there have been no cases of child abductions proven by the existence of valid evidence such as victims, perpetrators to the process of investigating the criminal act of child kidnapping itself which the filing was transferred to the court. This means that information on child abductions is still circulating among the community but the truth cannot be proven.

Kombespol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.SOS, S.I.K, M.H. again invites the public so that if there is information that is not correct, the certainty of the truth is to be able to contact the authorities to get certainty from this information.

“If there is a case of kidnapping the child, we hope that it will be handed over to the police for processing. It doesn’t mean that we immediately take the law into our own hands because later it can create new problems that will harm us all,” he said.

He continued, if there are suspicious things related to the child abduction case, they should be reported to the police for follow-up.
