Jayawijaya, Papua Pegunungan – A warm and energetic atmosphere enveloped the Olah Seni Center (POS) in Wesaput District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan, Tuesday (7/14/2026). The Presence of the Main Assistant of the National Police Chief for Operations (Astamaops the National Police Chief), Police commissioner general Muhammad Fadil Imran, M.Si., accompanied by the Head of Peace Operations Cartenz-2026 Inspector General of Police. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Papua Police Chief Inspector General of Police. Patrige R. Renwarin, S.H., M.Si., Karobinops Stamaops Polri Brigadier General Pol. Auliansyah Lubis, S.I.K., M.H., Policy Maker of the Main National Police Chief Tk. II Stamaops Polri Brigadier General Pol. Tri Atmodjo Marawasianto, S.I.K., and the team became a special moment for the students, teachers, and the community who have been making the Art Center as a place to study, work, and develop the potential of the young generation of Papua.
The working visit began with the arrival of the Astamaops Kapolri group at Wamena Airport. The group then went to Wesaput District to visit the Art Center at the residence of Ipda John Stenly Rewang.
Upon arrival at the location, Astamaops Kapolri and his entourage were greeted with a traditional dance performed by the children of the Olah Seni Center, followed by the appearance of the students of SD Inpres Wesaput and SMP Walelagama. The appearance reflects the spirit of the young generation of Papua in preserving culture as well as showing that the Olah Seni Center has become a coaching space that encourages children to continue to learn, work, and believe in their own abilities.
On that occasion, Astamaops Kapolri handed over assistance in the form of school supplies to students of Inpres Wesaput Elementary School and Walelagama Junior High School. The assistance is expected to support the teaching and learning process as well as be an encouragement for students to continue to excel and achieve their dreams.
For educators, the attention given by the National Police becomes its own motivation. The Head of SD Inpres Wesaput expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the care given to the school and its students.
“Your presence is a blessing that we have never imagined before. Especially for our son, Ipda John Stenly Rewang, whom we educated since elementary school until he succeeded in serving as a member of the National Police. During my 38 years of teaching, today is one of the most proud moments because the attention given not only motivates teachers, but also inspires children to continue to learn and achieve their dreams,” he said.
In addition to handing over assistance to the students, Astamaops Kapolri also gave a gift to Ipda John Stenly Rewang as a form of appreciation for his dedication to presenting the Olah Seni Center as a forum for the development of the young generation of Papua. The group then inspected the facilities of the Olah Seni Center which has been used as a place for art learning, creativity development, and character development for children in Wesaput District. The activity ended with a photo session with the students, educators, and all the invited guests.
Main Assistant of the National Police Chief for Operations (Astamaops Police Chief), Police commissioner general Muhammad Fadil Imran, M.Si., said that education and character development of children is a long-term investment for the future of Papua. According to him, the presence of the Art Sports Center is a real example of how caring for the younger generation can be realized through a positive space for learning, creating, and developing self-potential.
“I see the kids here have great spirit, talent, and hope. Our job together is to make sure they get the opportunity to learn, create, and achieve their dreams. This Olah Art Center is not only a place to develop art skills, but also to form children’s character, discipline, and self-confidence as a provision to build Papua in the future,” said Astamaops, the National Police Chief.
In line with that, the Head of the Operations Peace Cartenz Inspector General of Police. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said that the attention to education and coaching space such as the Olah Seni Center is an important part in building the future of Papua through strengthening the quality of its young generation.
“We hope that the support given today will be an encouragement for Papuan children to continue learning, developing talents, and achieving their dreams. Education, art, and character development are important foundations in creating a generation that is able to bring Papua to a better future,” said Head of Operation Peace Cartenz.
The visit left a deep impression on the students and educators, as well as strengthening the commitment of the National Police to continue to be present as a community partner in supporting education, nurturing the young generation, and the development of creativity spaces in the Papua Mountains. The National Police reaffirmed its commitment to be present not only as a security guard, but also as a community partner in supporting the progress of education, developing the potential of the young generation, and realizing a safe, peaceful, and hopeful Papua.
