JAYAPURA – The face of law enforcement in Papua is taking on a calmer, more embracing tone. The consistent human-centered approach carried out by the Damai Cartenz Task Force 2026 has received positive appreciation from various groups, including Papuan youth leader Marten Satya.
Marten observed that the presence of the Damai Cartenz Task Force today is no longer solely about security patrols, but about building bridges of trust with grassroots communities. According to him, personnel on the ground have demonstrated remarkable dedication by leading with empathy in every aspect of their duties.
“We see a major change. Damai Cartenz personnel work with heart. They are present among the community with courtesy, respect for customary values, and deep regard for Papua’s rich and diverse local wisdom,” Marten said in Jayapura on Saturday (February 7).
For Marten, the success of security operations in Papua greatly depends on how well officers are able to connect with the human side of the community. He believes that balancing firm law enforcement with respect for local culture is the key to creating sustainable stability.
“This approach makes residents feel safer and valued. When people feel they are part of the peace-building effort, they will not hesitate to take part in protecting their own communities from any form of disturbance,” he added.
Marten further called on all Papuan youth not to be easily provoked by narratives that could harm unity. He stressed that the peace currently being nurtured is a valuable foundation for a better future for the next generation of Papua.
“Do not give space to those who want to divide us. Let us support this synergy between the Police and the community. With togetherness, we are optimistic that Papua will continue to be a blessed, safe, and peaceful land for all of us,” Marten concluded optimistically.
The harmonious synergy between the Damai Cartenz Task Force and the community is expected to continue, proving that effective law enforcement is law enforcement that is able to win the hearts of the people.
