Three members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) involved in a series of violent acts in Yahukimo Regency have been officially handed over to the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office. This second phase of handover took place in Wamena on Tuesday, October 13, 2025, involving evidence and suspects who were captured from various locations.
The three suspects are Hombim Sama alias Dilan Sama, Nander Sobolim, and Ami Sobolim alias Wanggol Sobolim. They are suspected of involvement in a series of criminal acts, including attacks on health workers and teachers in Anggruk District, grievous assault, and theft with violence.
The handover process was conducted under tight security by the joint team of the Ops Damai Cartenz Task Force and the Yahukimo Police. After being escorted from Sentani Airport, the suspects and evidence were handed over to the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office and placed in Wamena Penitentiary.
Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Commander of Ops Damai Cartenz, stated that this activity demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to eradicate armed groups in Papua. He emphasized that legal processes will continue to ensure justice for victims and the community.
Deputy Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, added that the collaboration among authorities in enforcing the law is a concrete step in maintaining security stability in Yahukimo and surrounding areas. He also warned that firm action will be taken against armed groups still engaging in violence.
The evidence handed over includes several sharp weapons, stones, bloodstained clothing, as well as items belonging to victims and suspects related to the criminal acts. With this handover, the suspects will undergo prosecution at the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office.
“Law enforcement against armed groups in Papua must continue without compromise. The Attorney’s Office and authorities will ensure every criminal is processed thoroughly,” Brigadier General Faizal asserted.
