Nabire, Central Papua – The Central Papua Provincial Government is set to launch the construction of three key government buildings in January 2025. These include the Governor’s Office, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRP), and the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP), all of which will be located in Nabire, the province’s administrative center.

Acting Governor of Central Papua, Dr. Ribka Haluk, emphasized that this project is a crucial step toward integrating public services in the newly established province. “We have prepared a comprehensive plan that incorporates designs reflecting Meepago’s local culture while prioritizing sustainability through green open spaces,” she stated during a meeting with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) in September 2024.

The tender process for the project is scheduled to begin in November 2024, with construction slated to commence at the start of 2025. Haluk added that all necessary supporting documents, such as environmental impact assessments and technical reviews, have been completed to ensure smooth implementation.

The government envisions these offices as a model for other newly established provinces in Indonesia, featuring modern designs and facilities to support efficient operations. “We aim to ensure that these buildings are not only functional but also embody the cultural identity of Central Papua,” she added.

Following Haluk’s term ending in October 2024, incoming Acting Governor Anwar Damanik assured that the initiative would continue. He stressed the importance of accelerating infrastructure development to meet the community’s needs.

“This project lays the foundation for Central Papua’s governance in enhancing public services. We will oversee its progress to ensure timely completion and maximum benefits for the people,” Damanik remarked.

The construction of these government offices is expected to create more efficient public services and significantly improve the quality of life for Central Papua’s residents.
