Yahukimo, Highland Papua — The bodies of two murder victims, allegedly killed by an Armed Criminal Group (KKB), were successfully evacuated by a joint team from Operation Peace Cartenz-2025 and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to Dekai Regional Hospital (RSUD Dekai), Yahukimo Regency, on Thursday (April 10). The identification process and pursuit of the perpetrators remain ongoing and are being carried out intensively.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, confirmed that the evacuation was conducted with great caution due to the difficult terrain and poor weather conditions. He stated that the identification process would continue to confirm the victims’ identities and uncover the facts behind the incident.
“The evacuation of the two KKB victims’ bodies was successfully carried out today. A thorough identification process will follow,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.
Further evacuation efforts are scheduled for the next day due to worsening weather conditions and nightfall. To support the identification process, a forensic team from Bhayangkara Hospital in Jayapura has been deployed to RSUD Dekai.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that the pursuit of the perpetrator group is continuing in a coordinated manner. He also urged the public to remain calm and not be swayed by unverified information.
Operation Peace Cartenz, together with the TNI, reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining security stability and providing protection for the people of Papua.
