Jayapura – The Cartenz Peace Task Force together with the Puncak Police, Central Papua are investigating a shooting case carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) against Puskesmas workers in Jambul Village, West Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province on Friday, November 24 2023.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, said that the shooting case started with a witness who reported an attack carried out by the KKB on construction workers at the West Beoga Community Health Center.
“At around 16.30 WIT, a witness reported the incident to Koramil 1717-03 Beoga that there was an attack by the KKB on the Puskesmas construction workers,” he said.
After receiving this information, the joint TNI-Polri apparatus coordinated with local figures to carry out the evacuation of victims from the crime scene to Milawak Village, Beoga District.
“From this incident, three people died and two people were injured,” he said.
He explained that the victims who died were Suyanto, 40, who had a gunshot wound to the head and a gunshot wound to the left arm, Satiman, 40, had a gunshot wound to the right temple and a gunshot wound to the left arm and Triyono, 50, had a gunshot wound to the tip. right eye and on the right shoulder.
“The victims who died have been laid to rest at the Beoga Community Health Center and will then be evacuated to the Mimika Regional Hospital to receive further treatment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Puncak Police Chief Commissioner I Nyoman Punia said that currently the Cartenz 2023 Peace Ops Task Force together with Puncak Police are currently investigating the attack case.
“We will enforce the law against the perpetrators of the attack which left three people dead and two people injured,” he said.
