The murder of Michelle Kurisi Doga occurred on August 28 2023 in Kolawa District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Mountain Province. From October 5 2023 to October 8 2023, Cartenz 2023 Peace Operation personnel arrested three suspects in the murder, AW, PM and RK.
PM was arrested in Jayawijaya Regency, AW was arrested in Jayapura, and RK in Tolikara Regency. Police also stated that there were four other suspects who were still at large.
Ramandey said that Komnas HAM Papua would oversee the murder case of Michelle Kurisi until it was resolved. Ramandey said that his party continues to coordinate intensively with the Cartenz Peace Ops Task Force and the Papua Regional Police to uncover this murder case.
“We must appreciate the Kurisi case because the police immediately acted and arrested the alleged perpetrator of the murder,” he said.
