YAHUKIMO – The police brought two members of the terrorist armed criminal group (KKB) with the initials AS (25) and KG alias KB (27) to the Wamena District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari), Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains for trial.
Both are suspects in the shooting case that resulted in the death of a Brimob member in Yahukimo District
The two of them were involved in the assault and shooting of two Brimob members at KM 8, Yahukimo on 30 November 2022. As a result of this incident, a Brimo member, Bripda Gilang Aji Prasetyo, died.
Head of Peace Operations Cartenz Kombes Faizal Ramadhani said, before being handed over to the Wamena Prosecutor’s Office, the two KKB members were taken to Jayapura.
“The two suspects were involved in the attack and shooting of members of the 2022 Cartenz Peace Operations Preventive Task Force, namely Bripda Gilang Aji Prasetyo at Kilometer 8 Yahukimo, causing his death,” he said.
Apart from causing Bripda Gilang to die, the attack also injured a Brimob member named Briptu Fazuarsyah. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of the back.
The police, he said, also handed over a number of pieces of evidence to the Wamena District Attorney. Among them were 6 homemade firearms and 4 rounds of ammunition.
