Puncak Jaya, Papua – The Police personnel of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 continued to prioritize a humanitarian approach in maintaining security and public order across Papua through a community-focused foot patrol in Muara District, Puncak Jaya Regency, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).
In addition to monitoring the local security situation, the officers engaged directly with residents through a series of social and humanitarian activities. They held informal conversations with community members, greeted residents during their daily activities, distributed sweets to children, and assisted local farmers in harvesting crops. The warm interaction reflected the growing trust and harmonious relationship between security personnel and the local community.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by residents of Muara District. One local resident, Mama Samuel, expressed her appreciation for the officers’ presence, emphasizing that they not only provided security but also interacted closely with the community.
«”We are happy because the police officers came to greet us, played with our children, gave them sweets, and even helped us harvest crops. Their presence makes us feel closer to them and comfortable communicating openly. We hope activities like this will continue because they show that the community is genuinely cared for,” she said.»
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the humanitarian approach remains a key pillar of the operation in maintaining long-term security and stability in Papua.
«”We believe sustainable security can only be achieved by building trust and close relationships with the community. Therefore, we encourage every officer to serve not only as a protector and guardian, but also as a trusted partner through activities that bring direct benefits to local residents,” he said.»
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Cheif Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., explained that dialogic patrols and community outreach programs would continue to be conducted regularly throughout the operational areas as part of a preventive security strategy.
