Jayapura, May 2, 2025 — The Public Relations Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025 continues to intensify efforts to strengthen ties between the police and local communities. One such effort was seen during Bripka (Sergeant) Victor Merani’s visit to residents of Enggros Village, South Jayapura District, on Friday (May 2).
Sitting by the Enggros Beach, Victor chatted casually with residents while delivering messages on public security and order (Kamtibmas). He encouraged the community to work together to keep their village safe and orderly.
“We’re here not just as officers, but as part of the community. Keeping this village safe is a shared responsibility,” Victor said.
The police presence was warmly welcomed by local residents. The gathering was relaxed and friendly, filled with light conversation and the sharing of stories.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that a human-centered approach is key to building public trust.
“It’s not just about showing up, but about showing up with empathy. That’s the dialogical approach we promote,” Faizal explained.
Echoing this, the Public Relations Task Force Commander, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, added that building mutual trust is far more important than simply deploying personnel.
“Stable security is born from healthy communication between the police and the community,” Yusuf stressed.
This approach is expected to strengthen collaboration between local residents and law enforcement in the pursuit of lasting peace in Papua.
