Nduga — During their assistance visit to the operation area, members of the 2025 Damai Cartenz Operation (ODC) Assistance Team took the time to carry out a humanitarian gesture by supporting the local Papuan economy. This activity took place at the Kenyam Airport Market in Nduga Regency on Tuesday morning (April 8).

The delegation was led by ODC-2025 Task Force Head of Public Relations, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., accompanied by ODC-2025 Task Force Head of Operations, Police Commissioner Wahyu, S.I.K., M.H. They were joined by several task force personnel and mingled directly with the local vendors, most of whom were Papuan women known as mama-mama.

Amid the lively and colorful market scene, the task force members weren’t just present as security personnel—they also acted as caring members of the community. They bought various local produce such as vegetables, fruits, and tubers, which are the pride of the local farmers.

Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo stated that the task force’s presence in Papua is not only about securing the region but also about building stronger social connections with the people. He emphasized the importance of fostering trust and open communication between the authorities and the community.

“There are no barriers between us and the local people. Moments like these are a crucial part of our efforts to establish good relationships with the community. Our presence in Papua is not solely about security—it’s about care and understanding the lives of those around our areas of operation,” he said.

According to him, small gestures—like greeting, listening, and supporting local economic activities—are the foundation of unity and mutual trust. He also expressed appreciation for the warm and smiling welcome from the mama-mama.

This activity is part of a more humane approach implemented under the 2025 Damai Cartenz Operation. The operation emphasizes not only security, but also social, cultural, and humanitarian aspects. Through these kinds of interactions, the task force hopes to maintain regional stability and strengthen harmonious relationships between authorities and the people of Papua.
