Jayapura City – In an effort to support government programs related to food security, the Papua Regional Police (Polda) announced a long-term plan for 600 special competence officers (bakomsus) prioritized for Vocational High School (SMK) credits majoring in agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry.
This program is a follow-up to government policy in the era of President Prabowo Subianto, which emphasized the importance of food self-sufficiency.
The Head of the Human Resources Bureau (Karo SDM) of the Papua Police, Senior Commissioner Sugandi, emphasized that the Police are fully committed to supporting this strategic government program.
“The 2025 Bakomsus Police recruitment opens up opportunities for SMK graduates in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, as well as public health and nutrition majors.
“This is in line with efforts to strengthen national food security,” said Kombespol Sugandi, an alumnus of the Police Academy (Akpol) in 2000. Kombespol Sugandi explained that recruitment socialization will begin on November 1 and last until November 10, 2024 through various social media platforms.
Official registration will open in December.
“We ensure that all stages of the selection will be carried out transparently and free of charge,” he said.
For the Papua region, the Papua Police will prioritize native Papuan sons and daughters (OAP) in this warm-up process.
“The National Police Headquarters continues to provide special policies and relief for OAP in the selection process,” added Kombespol Sugandi.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo previously emphasized the Police’s commitment to supporting the acceleration of food self-sufficiency.
He met with every Regional Police and Resort Police to utilize unmanaged forestry land for productive agricultural activities, as part of a proactive step to support food security.
As a form of collaboration, the National Police and the Ministry of Agriculture have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in April 2024. The MOU covers various aspects, such as data exchange, security assistance, and support for the National Police food task force, to the utilization of human resources and infrastructure to support development. agricultural sector.
This step is expected to optimize the synergy between the two institutions, so that it can increase the availability of food strategies throughout Indonesia.
