Figures in Paniai Regency condemned the actions of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) which made people uneasy in Paniai Regency, Friday 14 June 2024.
Thomas Tebai as a Paniai Community Youth Leader, on his occasion said that the KKB often carried out acts of cruelty in the Paniai area, causing the security situation to be disrupted.
“We represent all the people in Paniai Regency condemning the KKB’s actions in Paniai and hope that the TNI-Polri will take legal action against the KKB so that the situation in this area remains safe, peaceful and conducive,” said Thomas
TPNPB-OPM claims that the Paniai area is a war zone for the KKB and the TNI-Polri security forces.
“If the claims made by TPNPB-OPM friends about Paniai being a military area or being said to be a war zone, that is only their personal claim. “Because until now we are still in a safe condition in Paniai,” said Thomas
Because, up to now there has been no visible massive military deployment. People are still carrying out office, school and buying and selling activities in normal markets as usual.
“Community activities are still as usual, there is nothing suspicious, nor are there any movements, either from the TPNPB-OPM or the TNI that indicate they might be retaliating. “To this day, we see none,” explained Thomas.
Meanwhile, Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno,. S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., when confirmed, said that the Cartenz 2024 Peace Ops Task Force would continue to enforce the law against KKB who were actively disrupting Community Security and Order in the Papua Regional Police jurisdiction.
“The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force will carry out law enforcement efforts against the KKB which disrupts security and social order in Paniai. It is recorded that for the past 2 months KKB Undius Kogoya has been active in disrupting security and social order in Paniai starting from burning kiosks and schools on May 21 and shooting civilians on last June 11,” said Bayu
The law enforcement carried out by the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operations Task Force against the KKB is an effort by the National Police to maintain security in the Land of Papua.
“We, Operation Peace Cartenz 2024, will continue to strive to maintain the security situation in Paniai Regency in order to create a safe and peaceful Land of Papua,” concluded the Head of the Public Relations Task Force
