Jayapura- The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Borme District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, seized electronic goods belonging to the congregation who were conducting Sunday morning worship on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at around 11:00 a.m. Wit, in Borme District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency.
Head of the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., in his statement said, while the congregation was carrying out Sunday morning worship, four KKB groups came with one firearm and threatened and seized electronic goods belonging to the congregation who was worshiping.
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno explained, the items belonging to the congregation who were carrying out worship included 1 unit of cellphone belonging to the congregation on behalf of David Korwa (OAP), who is also a health worker (Nakes) at the borme district health center, 1 unit of cellphone owned by Ferdian Rumansara (OAP), who is also a health worker (Nakes) at the borme district health center and 1 unit of laptop belonging to the Head of Puskesmas on behalf of Andi Wisal (OAP).
“After robbing the congregation at the church, the KKB then headed to the school compound, which frightened the teachers and made them flee to the forest to hide. And until now, we have not received any reports of casualties from the incident”. AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno said.
He added, currently the health workers who are also members of the church in the borme district, victims of the KKB action, are securing themselves at the house of the Head of the Borme District Health Center, Mountainous District.
