Jayapura – The Indonesian National Police, in this case the Yahukimo Police, together with Ops Damai Cartenz 2023, have again managed to secure a KKB member with the initials KB in one of the houses which is located at Echelon 4 Housing, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Wednesday (31/5).
This was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom when met at the Media Center.
The Head of Public Relations said that KB was secured after police officers carried out a raid on a house that was suspected to be the KKB’s hiding place in Yahukimo.
“KB is also known to have been heavily involved in the actions of the Armed Criminal Group in Papua, one of which was the shooting of a Brimob member at KM 7 in November 2022,” he said.
In addition, Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Arief Kristanto, S.H., S.I.K., M.Sc added, the raid process was based on the results of the statement from the KKB leader, Kopi Tua Heluka (KTH), who is currently under investigation by the Yahukimo Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
“During the arrest, the authorities also managed to secure several pieces of evidence in the form of 1 arrow, bow, striped trousers, red and white noken, red and blue bracelet, HT, 2 machetes and 3 necklaces,” explained Kombes Pol Benny.
He explained that KB had been at the Yahukimo Police to undergo an investigation and so far the situation in Yahukimo District was running conducive.
“KTH and KB will undergo further investigation development to link other actors to several criminal cases that occurred within the jurisdiction of the Yahukimo Police,” concluded the Police Chief.
