Jayapura – The Yahukimo Police are investigating 9 (nine) shots fired by Unknown Persons (OTK) when the Trigana Air PK YSC B 373-500 aircraft landed and took off at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Papua Regional Police Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, SH, SIK, M.Kom., when confirmed, confirmed the incident.
The Head of Public Relations said that the incident started with information from the Yahukimo Police Opsnal personnel who were carrying out security in the Nop Goliat Dekai Airport Area.
“Around 13.35 wit, via HT from Yahukimo Police Opsnal personnel that gunshots were heard 4 (four) times when the Trigana Air (Boing) type aircraft landed at Nop Goliath Dekai Airport originating from the direction around Kali Brasa Dekai,” said the Head of Public Relations when contacted, Saturday (11/03)
Furthermore, the Head of Public Relations said that the joint team with the Trigana Air airline immediately checked the body of the plane and found no marks of gunshots on the body of the plane.
“During take off to Sentani Jayapura Airport, the plane was fired upon again with 5 (times) shots,” said the Head of Public Relations.
The Head of Public Relations explained that when he checked again at Sentani Jayapura Airport, there was 1 (one) shot hole under the plane and one passenger was hit by a splinter from a chair.
“The joint team immediately pursued the perpetrators and swept the vulnerable places in the Nop Goliat Dekai airport area,” explained the Head of Public Relations.
During the sweep, the joint team secured 7 people around the TKP and several pieces of evidence including 3 (three) Black Vario motorbikes, Black Beat, Red Black Supra X, 1 (one) Arrow, 1 (one) ) Knife, 1 (one) Crescent, 1 (one) Bow, 1 (one) Sangkur.
“We have secured 7 (seven) people and some evidence to carry out further investigations and look for evidence of firearms used to carry out the shooting,” said Kombes Benny.
“Currently a joint TNI-Polri team is conducting patrols around the Dekai City area to anticipate security disturbances,” he added.
