Jayapura, Papua – The Jayapura City Government continues to strengthen cross-sector collaboration to accelerate stunting reduction by fostering synergy among government institutions, healthcare workers, educational institutions, the private sector, and the community.
Assistant I for Government Affairs of the Jayapura City Regional Secretariat, Evert Meraudje, said that reducing stunting cannot be achieved by the government alone but requires the active involvement of all stakeholders to ensure that intervention programs are implemented effectively and reach the intended beneficiaries.
He explained that the collaborative efforts focus on improving nutrition education, enhancing maternal and child healthcare services, strengthening the role of community health posts (Posyandu), and providing targeted interventions for high-risk groups, including pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
“The government continues to encourage strong collaboration among all stakeholders so that stunting prevention and reduction programs can be implemented comprehensively. Through solid cooperation, we hope to further reduce stunting rates in Jayapura and produce a healthier, smarter, and more competitive generation,” Meraudje said.
He added that the success of stunting reduction depends on a shared commitment to improving healthcare services, ensuring adequate nutrition, expanding access to proper sanitation, and educating families on healthy parenting practices and balanced nutrition.
The Jayapura City Government also called on all elements of society to actively support various stunting reduction initiatives, emphasizing that collective participation is essential to achieving sustainable improvements in the quality of human resources across the region.
