Pegunungan Bintang – Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz continues to put forward the humanist approach in maintaining security stability in the Papua Mountainous region. Through dialogical patrols, Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel carried out community visit activities in Oksibil District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, Wednesday (7/22/2026).
In addition to monitoring the security situation, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel also carried out social activities in the form of distributing clothes and food to children and the surrounding community. The activity received a positive response from the residents and became a means to strengthen the relationship between the security forces and the local community.
The warmth that was established during the patrol was appreciated by the Oksibil community. Residents assessed that the presence of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel not only gave a sense of security, but also showed concern for the social life of the community. The interaction that is built through dialogue, providing assistance to children, and direct communication is considered to be able to strengthen the relationship between the security forces and the community.
Bintang Mountains community figure, Markus Lepitalem admitted that he was happy with the dialogic patrol activities that were routinely carried out. According to him, the presence of Task Force personnel in the community makes residents feel calmer in carrying out their daily activities.
“We are happy because the fathers from the Task Force often come to greet us, talk to the community, and pay attention to the children. Their presence makes us feel safe and shows that the officers are really present for the community. We hope that activities like this will continue to be carried out,” said Markus Lepitalem.
Head of Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the humanist approach is one of the priorities in the implementation of the Cartenz Peace Operation in Papua.
“We continue to encourage all personnel to be present in the community with a persuasive and humanist approach. Dialogical patrols like this are important to strengthen the relationship between officers and residents, as well as ensure that the security situation is maintained in a conducive manner,” said Kaops.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operations Cartenz-2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that patrol activities will continue to be improved, both through walking patrols and using vehicles, especially at vulnerable points and vital objects.
“We intensify patrols and communication with community leaders, traditional figures, and religious figures as part of our early detection efforts for potential kamtibmas disorders. Synergy with the community is the main key in maintaining security stability in the Bintang Mountains region,” said Wakaops.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz emphasized its commitment to continue to maintain security in the Papua region through preventive measures, routine patrols, and approaches that prioritize dialogue and service to the community. With the establishment of good communication between officers and residents, it is hoped that the kamtibmas situation in Oksibil and its surroundings can remain safe and conducive.
