Timika – Timika Inside Festival of Art (TIFA) VI Year 2026 officially closed on Saturday (4/7/2026) at the Eme Neme Yauware Building, Mimika Regency, Central Papua. During the three days of its implementation, starting from July 2 to 4, 2026, this festival has become a collaboration space that brings together artists, culture, MSMEs, government, the business world, media, and society in strengthening cultural identity as well as moving the regional creative economy.

Representing the Mimika Regency Government, Community Expert Staff and Setda Mimika’s Human Resources, Fransiskus Bokeyau, said TIFA has developed into more than just an art festival. According to him, this activity becomes a strategic forum in encouraging the growth of the tourism sector, opening up opportunities for creative entrepreneurs, and introducing the richness of Mimika culture to the wider community.

“This year’s TIFA carries the theme of Bernada in Movement, Redeeming Rhythm and Carving Achievements. This theme is not just a series of words, but a shared spirit that is reflected in every performance, collaboration, and participation of all elements of the community during the festival,” said Fransiskus Bokeyau when closing the activity.

He explained, the success of the implementation of TIFA VI 2026 is the result of the synergy of various parties, ranging from local governments, art communities, cultural actors, UMKM actors, the business world, mass media, to the community who jointly support the implementation of the festival.

According to him, art and culture have an important role not only as a means of entertainment, but also as a medium of education, preservation of cultural values, strengthening brotherhood, and space for the younger generation to develop talents and achieve achievements.

The Mimika Regency Government also emphasized its commitment to continue to provide support for the development of the creative economy sector as part of the efforts to improve the welfare of the community. Through various art and cultural activities, the government hopes that more local business people will get the opportunity to promote products and expand the market.

The closing of TIFA VI 2026 marks the end of a series of festivals that not only presents a variety of cultural performances, but also strengthens the spirit of collaboration in building Mimika through art, culture, tourism, and a sustainable creative economy.
