Intan Jaya, Central Papua – Humanitarian assistance from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, was distributed to communities affected by the armed conflict in Agisiga District, Intan Jaya Regency, through the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force 2026. The aid distribution was combined with trauma-healing activities as a form of the government’s concern for residents who remain in evacuation sites.

The activity, held on Sunday (July 5, 2026), took place at a refugee post sheltering residents from four villages: Mbamogo, Soali, Tousiga, and Danggoa. The event was led by the Commander of the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force Sector Intan Jaya, AKP Syahrial Arditya, S.Tr.K., S.I.K., together with task force personnel and local religious leaders.

A total of 150 food aid packages were distributed to the refugees. Each package contained rice, wheat flour, cooking oil, canned milk, sugar, instant noodles, and canned sardines to help meet the basic needs of communities still affected by the conflict.

In addition to distributing aid, Damai Cartenz Task Force personnel also conducted trauma-healing activities and friendly gatherings with the refugees. This humanitarian approach was intended to help restore the psychological well-being of residents, especially children, women, and the elderly affected by the conflict situation.

Representing the refugee community, Agisiga religious leader Rev. Ones Mirip expressed appreciation for the government’s attention to conflict-affected residents.

“On behalf of the refugees and the community living together in this shelter, we would like to express our gratitude for the food assistance that has been provided. We also thank President Prabowo Subianto and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police for their support to the refugee community. This assistance means a great deal to us and gives people the spirit to rise again,” he said.

The Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the safety and recovery of the community remain priorities in every operation carried out in Papua.

“The presence of the state must truly be felt by the people. In addition to maintaining security, we are committed to ensuring that citizens affected by the conflict receive humanitarian assistance, support, and a sense of safety so they can return to their normal activities,” he stated.

Similarly, the Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that his team would continue strengthening synergy with local governments, community leaders, religious leaders, and all stakeholders to accelerate community recovery.

“We will continue prioritizing a humanitarian approach through social activities, public services, and trauma-healing programs. With the support of all elements of society, we hope that residents who are still displaced can recover soon and return to living safely, peacefully, and productively,” he affirmed.

Through this activity, the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force 2026 reaffirmed its commitment to being present not only in maintaining security, but also in supporting social and humanitarian recovery efforts for Papuan communities affected by conflict.
