Ilaga, Central Papua – Amid the cool mountain air and the daily activities of local residents, personnel from the Cartenz Peace Operation 2026 Task Force once again engaged with the community through a humanitarian patrol in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Sunday (June 14, 2026).
The patrol was not only aimed at maintaining public security and order but also served as an opportunity to foster warm interactions between security personnel and local residents. Officers walked through residential areas, greeted community members, conversed with elders, and interacted with children who enthusiastically welcomed their presence.
For many residents, the presence of personnel who approached them with smiles and friendly greetings brought a sense of comfort and reassurance.
Through direct communication, officers listened to community aspirations while ensuring that daily activities could continue safely and peacefully.
This activity is part of the humanitarian approach consistently promoted by the Cartenz Peace Operation in maintaining security stability across Papua. In addition to monitoring the security situation, personnel are committed to building trust and strengthening relationships with local communities, recognizing them as key partners in achieving sustainable peace and security.
Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani, stated that the presence of personnel among the people is an essential part of fostering a sense of security while strengthening emotional bonds between the Indonesian National Police and Papuan communities.
“Security is not built solely through law enforcement, but also through trust. Therefore, we continue to encourage our personnel to be present, to listen, to engage, and to become part of the community’s daily life. Through this closeness, a genuine sense of security can grow naturally,” said Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani.
According to him, persuasive and humanitarian approaches are fundamental to maintaining long-term security stability in Papua.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, emphasized that humanitarian patrols represent the Police’s commitment to public service through a people-centered approach.
“Every interaction with the community is meaningful. When people feel heard and cared for, a strong relationship between security personnel and residents is established. This is what we continuously strive to maintain through various humanitarian activities in the field,” said Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga.
