Jayapura – Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku is here and entrusted with bringing a glimmer of hope to the education of children in Papua by distributing a total of 2,000 school supplies packages to elementary school students, orphans, and the underprivileged in Jayapura City and the surrounding areas. This activity was held to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Danantara’s founding.
The distribution of this aid was carried out in a marathon, visiting several locations, including YPK 1 Sion Dok VIII Elementary School, YPK 1 Sion Dok VIII Junior High School, YPK Paulus Dok V Elementary School, Hikmah 2 Yapis Dok V Elementary School, and the Muhammadiyah Abepura Orphanage.
Ispiani Abbas, Area Manager of Communication, Rail & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku, stated that this activity was part of Danantara’s gratitude for one year of strengthening the socio-economic pillars of the community while contributing to the education of the nation’s children. This is a concrete manifestation of Danantara’s commitment, through Pertamina Patra Niaga, to supporting the sustainability of education for the golden generation in Eastern Indonesia.
“We want the presence of Danantara and Pertamina to be felt directly by the community, including our children as the golden generation of Indonesia. These 2,000 school packages containing school bags, stationery, and drinking tumblers aim to ensure that economic constraints do not extinguish the enthusiasm of children in Papua for learning. We want them to know that they are not alone in pursuing their dreams,” said Ispiani.
A feeling of emotion and joy enveloped the classroom as the new bags and school supplies were distributed. One of the joys came from Arga, a fourth-grade student at Hikmah 2 Yapis Dok V Elementary School, who couldn’t hide his joy upon receiving the package.
“I’m so happy, the aid is complete: a water bottle, pencil case, books, and a bag. Happy birthday, Danantara, thank you, Mr. Prabowo,” Arga exclaimed enthusiastically.
Syafa, a third-grade student at Hikmah 2 Yapis Dok V Elementary School, expressed similar joy. Holding the water bottle she received, she shared how much this assistance meant to her. “I’m so happy to receive stationery, a tumbler, and a bag. It makes me even more excited to go to school tomorrow,” she said cheerfully.
Together with Danantara, Pertamina Patra Niaga hopes that this school aid package will have a positive impact on the golden generation of Indonesian children, enabling them to make a sustainable positive contribution to the welfare of communities in remote areas.
