NDUGA – The security approach in Papua continues to evolve. Beyond maintaining order through guard posts, the Damai Cartenz Task Force (ODC) 2026 is taking a proactive path by reaching out directly to communities, even in remote villages.

This warm interaction was seen in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, on Thursday (February 2). ODC 2026 Sector 3 Nduga personnel conducted a foot patrol through Kora Village, extending to the yard of Siom Church, located not far from the Koteka Post.

Rather than tension, the presence of officers was welcomed with a friendly atmosphere. During the community visit, police personnel engaged in relaxed conversations with residents and church congregants while also distributing basic food supplies. The activity symbolized that the presence of the state is meant to provide a sense of safety and comfort.

Head of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026, Brig. Gen. Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that physical security measures such as patrols represent only one side of the mission. Equally important, he said, is winning the hearts of the people.

“We want to ensure that the community feels close to the police. Through these outreach activities, we hope to strengthen relationships and build trust between the public and security personnel,” Brig. Gen. Faizal stated.

The one-star general added that emotional connection is a vital key. When the community trusts law enforcement, the duties of the ODC Task Force in maintaining regional security become more effective and receive full support from local residents.

Furthermore, Brig. Gen. Faizal stressed that a stable and peaceful situation in Nduga and Papua as a whole is not the responsibility of one party alone. Synergy between citizens and the police is the main foundation.

“We must work together to maintain a conducive security and public order situation in Papua. The community and the police must cooperate to achieve sustainable peace,” he added.

In closing, the Head of Damai Cartenz Operations delivered a moral message to all elements of Papuan society, encouraging everyone to take an active role in maintaining order.

“Cooperation and mutual respect among all people will create a safe and peaceful environment,” he concluded.
