JAYAPURA – Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri urged Bank Mandiri to pay closer attention to the many small traders operating along the outskirts of Jayapura City, especially Papua’s women traders mama-mama Papua, who require support in developing their micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“I would like to emphasize and kindly request that the many mama-mama Papua selling along the roadside be included in programs and activities such as this,” he said.

Fakhiri stressed that the role of all stakeholders is essential in uplifting small traders. “If we are not the ones helping them—these mama-mama Papua—then who will? Therefore, make sure they are involved in every activity,” he stated.

The Governor also noted that Livin’ Fest 2025 aligns with the Papua Provincial Government’s broader vision of a Progressive and Harmonious New Papua Transformation. He explained that Livin’ Fest is a real example of synergy between the government, the business sector, and the community, bringing new energy to ongoing development efforts.

“The presence of Bank Mandiri demonstrates concrete support for strengthening the people’s economy and aligns with the vision of a Productive Papua that promotes local product innovation,” he added.

In addition to economic empowerment, Governor Fakhiri emphasized that the festival also serves as a platform to educate the community through various financial services, including Mandiri KPR, Mandiri Auto, MSME financing programs, and digital transactions through the Livin’ by Mandiri application.

“This digital transformation is consistent with the mission of a Smart Papua, which encourages financial literacy and digital readiness,” he continued.

He added that this event represents a concrete step toward realizing responsive and effective governance that meets the needs of the people.
