Papua Youth Forum Voices Strong Support for Law Enforcement by Cartenz Peace Task Force
Papua Tengah — Support for law enforcement and security stability efforts in Papua continues to grow, with the latest expression coming from Antonia Alfa Yatitawi Pekey, Coordinator of the Papua Tengah Youth Forum (Rembuk Pemuda Papua Tengah). She declared her full support for the Cartenz Peace Task Force (Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz) in maintaining order and peace across the region.
Antonia emphasized that security is not solely the duty of law enforcement officers but also a shared moral responsibility of all Papuans to preserve peace and harmony. She commended the task force for its consistent efforts and firm commitment to protecting the people.
“I, Antonia Alfa Yatitawi Pekey, as the Coordinator of the Papua Tengah Youth Forum, fully support the Cartenz Peace Task Force in maintaining stability and security in Papua,” she stated in Papua Tengah on Tuesday (Nov 11).
Antonia further expressed her support for decisive law enforcement actions against groups that threaten public safety, as long as such measures are taken lawfully and in the interest of protecting civilians.
“As a youth leader, I stand behind firm law enforcement against groups that continually disrupt peace and stability within Papuan communities,” she affirmed.
Beyond moral support, Antonia highlighted the importance of collaboration between the youth and security forces. She believes that the young generation of Papua has a crucial role in fostering peace awareness and rejecting all forms of violence.
“We truly appreciate the dedication, hard work, and commitment of all Cartenz Peace Task Force personnel who have maintained security with professionalism and humanity. A peaceful Papua is our shared hope,” she concluded.
