Unoccupied but Ablaze! Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force Launches Investigation

Mulia – A vacant house in Kampung Trikora, Pruleme District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, caught fire on Friday morning (2/28). Security forces from the Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force promptly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.
The initial report came from officers at the Kulirik Post of the Puncak Jaya Sectoral Task Force. In response, Team Belukar 7.4, led by First Inspector (Ipda) Sukono, S.H., swiftly deployed to the location. Upon arrival at approximately 8:30 AM WIT, the team found the house already engulfed in flames. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
After conducting a sweep of the area, the team coordinated with the Mulia Police before returning to their post to remain on standby. Aside from the burned house, no additional material losses were reported.
Brigadier General (Pol.) Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Commander of Operation Damai Cartenz-2025, stated that security patrols in high-risk areas would be intensified to prevent similar incidents.
“We will ensure that every significant incident is handled professionally. Our personnel responded quickly and will continue to collaborate with all parties to maintain security in Puncak Jaya,” he said.
Senior Commissioner (Pol.) Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., Head of Public Relations for Operation Damai Cartenz-2025, also urged the public to remain calm and vigilant.
“If you have any information regarding this incident or notice anything suspicious, please report it immediately to the authorities,” he stated.
Currently, joint security forces are conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrators and motives behind the fire. Meanwhile, security patrols in Puncak Jaya are being reinforced to ensure stability and public safety.
