Due to Infidelity, KKB Gang Attacks Residents and Burns Buildings

Puncak, February 3, 2025 – The KKB gang led by Kalenak Murib and Tenius Kulua set fire to four buildings in Kelemame Village and Pasir Putih Village, Sinak District, Puncak Regency, on Monday (3/2) at 16:29 WIT.

Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., as the Head of the Damai Cartenz Operation, accompanied by the Deputy Head of the Damai Cartenz Operation, Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., explained the chronology of the incident. Personnel from the Sinak Police Station, along with the Damai Cartenz 2025 Task Force, received reports of the arson in the two villages.

Based on the investigation results, this arson is suspected to have been triggered by a dispute due to the infidelity of the KKB gang members.

It was reported that the wife of one of the KKB gang members, Tenius Kulua, was suspected of having an affair, which led to a conflict that was further exacerbated by the KKB gang led by Kalenak Murib.

The buildings that were burned include:

Pasir Putih Village Office

Kelemame Village Office

Two buildings of Kelemame State Elementary School

Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., as the Head of Public Relations Task Force of Damai Cartenz 2025 Operation, urged the public to remain calm and not easily provoked. He also requested residents who have information regarding the whereabouts of KKB to immediately report it to the authorities.

“We ask the public to remain vigilant and report to the authorities if there are any suspicious activities around them. Cooperation between the community and security forces is crucial to maintaining order,” he said.

This incident is proof that the behavior of the KKB is extremely brutal, as a personal problem led to the destruction and burning of public/community facilities, causing anxiety among the people of Papua.
