Jayapura- Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri asked the newly appointed Police Chiefs to immediately prepare security in their areas ahead of the regional head elections (Pilkada).
Because before the Pilkada, the Police Chiefs must prepare a security plan. “Immediately adapt to the conditions of each region and coordinate with all parties so that the regional elections take place safely,” said Inspector General Pol Fakhiri.
He hopes that his personnel in various regions in Papua will be ready to carry out their duties in security measures for the simultaneous regional elections in the Land of Papua. Apart from that, he also emphasized to the Heads of Police to pay close attention to every step in the process leading up to the Pilkada.
“I hope that the police chiefs can help me in making the regional elections a success, as yesterday when the elections went well,” he said.
At the end, he reminded personnel from conflict-prone areas or red areas to prioritize personal safety but remain responsible for their duties as members of the National Police. “Don’t let the KKB interfere with the implementation of the elections,” he concluded.
