This was stated by the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Commissioner Pol Ignasius Benny Prabowo when met in Jayapura, Papua, Wednesday (29/11) afternoon. Commissioner Benny said, the 13 areas include the base areas for armed criminal groups (KKB).
“All KKB bases are prone to disruption,” said Commissioner Benny. He said the 13 areas include the districts of Bintang Mountains, Yahukimo, Nduga, Puncak, Puncak Jaya, Lanny Jaya, Jayawijaya, Tolikara, Dogiyai, Paniai, Intan Jaya Yalimo and the city of Jayapura.
“Apart from being a KKB base, this area is also an area that is equally prone to regional election conflict,” said Commissioner Benny.
To anticipate December 1, the Papua Regional Police have taken anticipatory steps. “For December 1, the ranks have increased patrols with the aim of making the community feel safe from various disturbances carried out by opposing groups,” concluded Commissioner Benny.
