Jayapura – On Sunday (13/11), as many as 200 residents from various villages in Puncak Regency, Central Papua, were confirmed to have secured themselves with TNI-Polri officers as a response to disturbances in the activities of the Armed Criminal Group some time ago.
The arrival of residents from the villages of Jenggernok, Wako, Ninggabuma, Agiyome, Upaga, Gome, Jonggong Golawi, Kilanungin, Misimaga, and Tigibalok, was escorted and received directly by TNI-Polri officers from the Puncak Police and the Mobile Infantry Battalion Task Force R 300/BJW.
This was also confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom after receiving a situation report from officers in the field.
According to the Head of Public Relations, considering the geographical conditions and the distance to the Police Station which was quite far, the residents were directed to protect themselves at the Bethel Jenggernok and Honai-Honai Churches around Gome District, accompanied by the Head of the Puncak Regency Big Tribe, Mr. Pius Abelom Kogoya, together with the village head. other.
“This occurred as a result of disturbances some time ago caused by the Armed Criminal Group, so the community felt the need to receive protection from this threat,” he said.
However, this situation did not last long, after several hours the community felt safe, and were finally able to return to their homes after the TNI-Polri officers provided security guarantees in Puncak Regency.
“Not only that, security forces also distributed food to the community so they could use it when they arrived at their homes. “Until now, the situation in Puncak Regency is gradually becoming more conducive with tight security throughout the area,” said Commissioner Benny.
