Jayapura_ Chairman of the Papuan Red and White Laskar Regional Headquarters, Jan Christian Arebo, S.H., M.H. strongly condemns the barbaric actions of the murder of 7 residents in Yahukimo Regency carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
This act of murder is not justified and is very barbaric, so the perpetrators must be processed and dealt with firmly.
“We, the Red and White Laskar together with the Papua Red and White Laskar Regional Headquarters, ask the security forces to take firm action against the perpetrators of the murder of 7 residents,” said Jan Kristian Arebo, Thursday, October 19 2023.
It was stated that the KKB were like terrorists who disturbed the comfort of working people, so this behavior was not justified.
He hopes that the perpetrators can be caught and dealt with firmly by security forces.
Jan Christian Arebo emphasized that the murder of 7 civilians was a very serious violation of human rights and this human rights violation continues to be carried out repeatedly by the KKB in Papua.
“It’s not just the TNI/POLRI that are always focused on human rights issues. But serious and repeated human rights violations continue to be carried out by the KKB,” stressed Arebo.
“This is a cruel act, so it should not only be the TNI/POLRI whose human rights violations are highlighted, but what is more cruel and barbaric is that the KKB also committed human rights violations,” explained Arebo.
He said that this matter must be highlighted and dealt with firmly, because Indonesia has now officially become a Permanent Member of the UN Human Rights Council, meaning that Indonesia is very good at resolving cases of human rights violations in Indonesia, including in Papua.
“We hope that the human rights violations committed by the KKB can also be highlighted and dealt with firmly,” he asked, ending the press statement.
