Jayapura- Simon Petrus Sroyer, an ASN Satpol PP of Pegunungan Bintang Regency who was the victim of an attack and shooting by KKB on September 19, 2023, recounted the incident he experienced when he was about to rush from his house to the Regent’s Office of Pegunungan Bintang Regency to carry out his duties, Saturday 30/9/2023.
On the sidelines of the working visit of Ka Ops Peace Cartenz-2023, Kombes Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., to Oksibil mountainous district on September 27, 2023 ago, Mr. Simon Petrus Sroyer Victim of the attack and shooting by the KKB when met, told the story he experienced.
He told that, when he rushed from his house to the regent’s office to carry out his duties, suddenly in the middle of the road, he was intercepted by 3 KKB people with complete weapons.
“I was asked by them KKB, where are you going, I answered, going to the office, then I was suddenly shot in the head and at that time I moved reflexively to avoid the shot but still hit my helmet so that my ear was injured. Then at that time, I also felt pain in my ribs and at that time I knew that my ribs were hit by a sharp object / bayonet,” he said.
After that, I was shot again and I saw that the muzzle of the KKB weapon did not emit fire and I concluded that the weapon had a jam or other obstacles from which I made the decision to fight back, so that the 3 KKB people immediately ran away.
When I was about to get on my motorcycle, to continue the journey, 3 KKB people who were different from the previous 3 people with complete weapons appeared again to attack me again and there I returned to fight again so they immediately fled.
After that, I escaped and reported to the Police and TNI guard post in the GBI Church area and from there I was escorted to the hospital for medical treatment.
From this incident, I would like to convey that, KKB who hold firearms, have violated national and international law so that there is no compromise for them to be carried out firm and measurable law enforcement to completion.
“I am not happy with what was done by this KKB, and I hope that what was done by this KKB should not be repeated again so that community activities can run safely and peacefully and development can be carried out by the government for the realization of a Safe, Peaceful and Prosperous Pegunungan Bintang Regency.” he said.
