Jayapura – Joint TNI-Polri officers carried out a crime scene investigation and evacuated 5 bodies suspected of being an Armed Criminal Group (KKB) found in Kali Brasa, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Commissioner Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom., confirmed the discovery of the body on Friday (15/9/2023).
The Head of Public Relations said that the five bodies had been processed at the crime scene by the Police in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, Thursday (14/9/2023) at around 14.50 WIT.
“The five bodies were evacuated after the firefight between the TNI and KKB. “Currently the five bodies are at the Dekai Regional Hospital for autopsies to be carried out,” said the Head of Public Relations.
Regarding evidence, the Head of Public Relations said that it included 2 (two) firearm magazines, 4 (four) bullets, as well as personal property evidence.
“All evidence has now been secured at the Yahukimo Police for investigation purposes,” he said.
“The National Police, assisted by the TNI, remains consistent in enforcing the law against anyone who commits criminal acts,” said Commissioner Benny.
