Jayapura – Commander of Kodam XVII Cenderawasih, Major General TNI Izak Pangemanan, revealed that Capt Phillip Mark Mehrtens, who is the pilot of the Susi Air aircraft, is currently in good condition.
The TNI continues to carry out ongoing search efforts by communicating with all parties, including religious, traditional, youth and women leaders.
“Communication with all parties is going well to help free Pilot Susi Air. Everyone supports the TNI’s efforts in this search,” explained the military commander.
Efforts to continue negotiations are also carried out. He emphasized that the TNI chose the peaceful path to resolve all problems in Papua, including the hostage situation of Pilot Philip Mark Mehrtens.
“I hope there will be no further victims, whether from the civilian side or the TNI Polri. Because all problems need to be resolved peacefully,” explained Major General Izak.
Meanwhile, it is known that Egianus Kogoya’s group wants to free the Susi Air pilot, but internal parties still think there is still something that needs to be resolved.
