Timika – The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Puncak Regency area continues to carry out shooting terror allegedly targeting a stall keeper named Antonius Padang (33).
Based on information about the incident, it is suspected that the KKB took place on Friday (1/9/2023) at around 18:38 WIT, located in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province.
Based on the information collected, the incident started when he was closing the kiosk when an unknown person (OTK) came and immediately shot him.
The victim was shot resulting in a gunshot wound to the right knee and the projectile is still lodged. He is also still conscious.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Police Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo when confirming the incident.
“We are very concerned about this shooting incident. This is a very serious criminal act, and we will conduct an in-depth investigation to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice in accordance with applicable law,” said Benny.
He said that when the incident occurred, the joint security forces from the TNI-Polri immediately responded and headed to the source of the gunshots, however, when the officers arrived at the scene, the perpetrators had already fled.
“After conducting a sweep, members quickly evacuated Antonius Padang to Ilaga Hospital, Kampung Kago, to receive medical treatment,” he concluded.
