Jayapura – TNI officers on Friday (1/9) raided the headquarters of the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya in Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains.
During the raid, three Papuan KKB members, namely Army Tabuni, Ganti Gwijangge, and one other who has not been identified were reportedly shot dead.
Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Major General Izak Pangemanan, when confirmed by journalists, confirmed the report.
It was said that the raid operation carried out by the TNI was a result of the killing of 3 civilians on August 16 2023.
“Yesterday’s operation was the result of the killing of three civilians by the KKB in Batas Batu,” said Major General Izak Pangemanan when confirmed by journalists, Sunday (3/9).
It was revealed that the raid on the KKB headquarters was carried out on Friday (1/9) in Aluguru Village, Krepkuri District, Nduga Regency.
Apart from killing many Papuan KKB members, the TNI also managed to secure a number of pieces of evidence related to the leadership group. Egianus Kogoya.
“From this operation the joint team succeeded in securing a number of pieces of evidence such as weapons, ammunition, equipment and documents indicating TPNPB-OPM activities,” he said.
