Jayapura- The National Police through Ops Damai Cartenz-2023 and the Yapen Islands Police carried out a raid on the headquarters of the Armed Criminal Group in Ambaidiru Village, Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands Regency and secured dozens of pieces of evidence, including 1 assembled firearm made of wood resembling a pistol and 1 matchstick pistol brand “P”, as well as 1 striped vest and Morning Star flag measuring 25 cm x 15 cm, on Friday, June 16, 2023.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2023, Kombespol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., when interviewed in Jayapura said, the raid of the KKB headquarters in Ambaidiru village, Kosiwo District, in the context of prosecution and law enforcement against the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by “SM” which is known some time ago to have committed criminal acts by burning heavy equipment (excavators) and raising the Morning Star flag on May 29 in Woda village, Rainbawi district, Yapen island district.
He continued, in the raid, no residents were secured and for the evidence that had been confiscated had been handed over to the Yapen Islands police investigators in this case the Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation and examination.
He added, the security situation in the Yapen Islands Regency was generally safe and conducive but the security forces still continued to increase patrols to prevent disturbances from the KKB which could affect community activities in the Yapen Islands Regency.
