Jayaputa – The development of the search for and release of the Susi Air Pilot, which has entered its 4th month but has yet to find a bright spot.
Thomas Ch. Syufi as the Coordinator of the Papuan Observatory for Human Rights (POHR) said the Indonesian government had to open up and appoint a neutral international agency or country to come to Papua to negotiate with the TPNPB.
“I hope the Indonesian government will immediately appoint a foreign country as a mediator for the release of Pilot Susi Air, this is the right step for us to take,” said Thomas Ch. Sufi when interviewed, Tuesday (13/6).
Thomas said that the release of pilot Susi Air could not be completed in the usual way as is currently being done by the government, because if this continues it will have an impact on other, bigger problems.
“The state doesn’t need to be prestige, because this is not an ordinary problem, but there is a matter of the safety of foreign citizens, if the government always maintains its ego then this problem will not be resolved,” he said.
Previously, the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya said they would shoot Pilot Capt. Mark Merthens if their demands are not met within the next 2 months.
