Timika- After a firefight between the TNI-Polri Ops Peace Cartenz and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Nduga region on Monday, May 29, 2023, as many as 162 residents from Nogolait village, Nduga Regency, asked to be evacuated to the capital of Nduga Regency-Kenyam.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2023, Kombespol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., when confirmed stated that the residents requested evacuation due to disturbances from the KKB.
“Of these, consisting of 54 adult men, 84 mothers and children, and 24 children and Currently, the evacuees are at the State Elementary School 1 Kenyam” said Head of Cartenz Peace Ops.
He continued, the residents decided to flee to Kenyam City because they were afraid due to the firefight between the security forces and the KKB Group led by Yotam Bugiangge.
“Although the situation in Kenyam City is currently safe, security members continue to maintain vigilance to anticipate disturbances from the KKB Group,” he concluded.
