Fully support law enforcement against the KKB in Papua and ask the head of the KKB for the Nduga region, Egianus Kogoya to immediately release the Susi air pilot, Captain Philip Max Merhtensm, Thursday/27/4/2023.
When being interviewed in Jayapura, Pdt. Dr. Yones Wenda said, as a church figure, he fully supports law enforcement efforts against the KKB.
He continued, the KKB leader for the Nduga region, Egianus Kogoya, immediately released pilot Susi because this hostage-taking was very contrary to the teachings of Christianity in terms of humanity.
He also added, Don’t solve the Papua problem with violence, meaning not only from the KKB to the security forces, but all parties must be able to restrain themselves.
“We also hope that people in mountainous areas will remain calm and carry out their activities as usual. Don’t be easily swayed by news or issues that have not been confirmed because they only create fear among the people,” he concluded.
