NABIRE, Central Papua — The patrol conducted by Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 Sector Nabire in the Samabuasa River area, Nabire Regency, on Tuesday (25/8/2026), took on a distinctly humanist atmosphere. Beyond monitoring the security situation, personnel interacted directly with local residents through informal conversations and by purchasing locally grown produce sold by the community.

The activity was led by Sector Commander IPTU Ari Wiyono. Personnel patrolled the Samabuasa River area to observe community activities firsthand while ensuring that public security and order remained safe and conducive.

During the patrol, personnel took time to greet and speak with residents. The conversations took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, giving residents an opportunity to share information about conditions in their surroundings while personnel delivered public security messages in a persuasive and respectful manner.

The interaction also included the purchase of local agricultural produce sold by residents. For the Task Force personnel, purchasing the produce was more than simply a transaction; it was also a way to build closer ties with the community through simple interactions in everyday life.

One of the residents, Mama Deki, welcomed the presence of Task Force personnel who came directly to meet and communicate with the community.

“We are happy because the officers came and spoke directly with the community. We can share information about conditions in our area and remind one another to maintain security together. Their presence makes us feel cared for,” said Mama Deki.

She said that direct communication with security personnel made residents feel closer and more comfortable in sharing information about conditions in their surroundings.

During the activity, personnel also encouraged residents to work together to maintain security and peace. Residents were urged to remain attentive to their surroundings and immediately coordinate with authorities if they encountered situations that could potentially disrupt security.

Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said that a humanist approach is an important part of maintaining security in Papua.

“Security is not only the responsibility of security personnel, but also requires the participation of the community. Through direct observation and communication, personnel can understand conditions on the ground while building trust with residents. We hope this good relationship will continue to be maintained in order to create a safe and conducive environment,” said the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.

He emphasized that the presence of personnel among the community is not merely intended to monitor the area. More importantly, personnel are expected to build communication and mutual trust so that residents can carry out their daily activities safely and comfortably.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that area observation and humanist engagement would continue on a regular basis.

“We encourage personnel in the field not only to monitor the situation, but also to establish good communication with the community. Information from residents is very important in maintaining security. Through open communication and good relationships, potential security disturbances can be identified and addressed at an early stage,” said the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.

He also urged residents not to be easily influenced by unverified information that could potentially create unrest. According to him, maintaining peace is a shared responsibility that requires active involvement from both security personnel and the community.

The patrol in the Samabuasa River area proceeded safely and orderly. The simple interactions through dialogue, community engagement, and the purchase of local produce reflected the humanist approach of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 in building closer ties with residents while maintaining a safe and conducive security situation in Nabire.
