DOGIYAI — Dogiyai Regent Yudas Tebai, S.Pd., M.Si., has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services in Dogiyai Regency. During his visit to Dogiyai Regional General Hospital (RSUD Dogiyai) on Tuesday (August 18, 2026), the Regent not only inspected the hospital’s facilities but also took the time to engage directly with healthcare workers.

The visit was aimed at gaining a firsthand understanding of the current condition of healthcare services and the challenges faced by doctors, nurses, midwives, administrative staff, and cleaning personnel in carrying out their daily duties.

After touring several rooms and facilities, Yudas Tebai spent approximately four hours holding an open discussion with healthcare workers. The dialogue provided an opportunity for staff to openly convey their needs, concerns, and suggestions regarding healthcare services at RSUD Dogiyai.

Regent Yudas Tebai said that direct communication with healthcare workers is essential so that the local government can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the challenges occurring on the ground.

“I am not here to look for mistakes, but to listen to your concerns. Tell us what is still lacking and what you need. I want all of you to be able to work calmly and professionally so that patient services can run properly,” he said.

During the discussion, several aspects drew the attention of the local government, including the condition of medical equipment, the availability of medicines and medical supplies, as well as supporting facilities within the hospital.

In addition to infrastructure and facilities, the Regent also listened to feedback from healthcare workers regarding working conditions, workload, service hours, and welfare-related matters, all of which can have an impact on the quality of services provided to the community.

According to Yudas, improving the quality of RSUD Dogiyai cannot be achieved simply by constructing or renovating physical facilities. The government must also ensure that healthcare workers have an adequate and supportive working environment so they can perform their duties effectively.

“We have to look at this hospital as a whole. It is not only about the building, but also the medical equipment, medicines, medical personnel, and everyone who works here. All of these aspects must be improved gradually,” he said.

Following the concerns and aspirations conveyed by healthcare workers, the Dogiyai Regent said he would coordinate with the Dogiyai Health Office, relevant regional government agencies, and other institutions. The needs identified during the visit will serve as material for the local government’s evaluation in determining appropriate improvement measures based on the region’s budgetary capacity.

He also emphasized that improving service standards at RSUD Dogiyai is an important part of responding to public expectations, including preparations for the hospital accreditation process.

“Going forward, we will develop and improve this hospital together. The existing shortcomings will be addressed gradually according to the region’s capacity. Healthcare is a basic right of the people, and it is something we must continue to fight for,” Yudas Tebai stressed.

The visit received a positive response from healthcare workers. The opportunity to speak directly with the regional leader was seen as an important platform for openly conveying the realities of healthcare services while jointly seeking solutions to challenges encountered in the field.

Through direct communication, the Dogiyai Regency Government hopes that improvements to RSUD Dogiyai can be implemented more accurately and effectively, enabling healthcare workers to perform their duties in a more supportive environment while ensuring that residents receive increasingly better healthcare services. For the Dogiyai Regency Government, improving healthcare services is not merely about providing adequate facilities. It is also about creating a supportive working environment that enables healthcare workers to deliver the best possible services to the community.
