TEMBAGAPURA, Central Papua – Exercise books and learning materials once again filled the study room at the Tembagapura Police Station in Mimika Regency on Tuesday morning (August 18, 2026). Several children gathered together, reading, writing, and practicing arithmetic in a simple and friendly atmosphere.

The activity was part of the Free Honai Learning Program initiated by the Tembagapura Police Station as a form of concern for children’s education in the Tembagapura area. The program received support from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 through the involvement of personnel in mentoring and assisting the learning process.

Starting at 8:45 a.m. local time, the children participated in basic lessons focusing on reading, writing, and arithmetic. The materials were delivered through interactive and creative methods, allowing the learning process to take place in a relaxed atmosphere rather than feeling like a rigid classroom activity.

At times, the children answered questions together, listened to explanations from their instructors, and then tried to complete the exercises provided. These simple interactions made the learning atmosphere more lively and engaging.

For the children, the study room at the Tembagapura Police Station was not merely a place to gain additional knowledge. The presence of police personnel accompanying them provided a meaningful experience that learning can take place in a friendly, enjoyable, and caring environment.

For parents, the activity provided additional support in their children’s education. The Honai Learning Program gave the children an opportunity to review their school lessons while spending their time on beneficial activities.

One of the students’ parents, Desi, expressed her appreciation for the activity, saying that it benefited the children while also helping parents support their education.

“I would like to thank the Police, particularly the Tembagapura Police Station and the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, for supporting our children. This activity means a lot to us as parents because education is very important for our children’s future. We hope activities like this can continue,” Desi said.

She added that the attention provided through the learning activities gave the children additional opportunities to develop their abilities.

“The children are happy because they can study together in an enjoyable atmosphere. As parents, we feel supported because they have additional time to learn and receive guidance,” she added.

During the activity, personnel from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 also took part by assisting the learning process and interacting directly with the children. Their involvement was part of the Task Force’s humanistic approach to providing tangible benefits to the community.

Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said he appreciated the Tembagapura Police Station’s initiative in providing a learning space for children and supporting its implementation through the involvement of Task Force personnel.

“We appreciate the initiative of the Tembagapura Police Station in establishing the Honai Learning Program for children. The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz provides support so that positive activities like this can continue and provide benefits to the community. For us, education is an important part of building the future of Papua’s younger generation,” said the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.

He explained that the Task Force’s responsibilities are not limited to security matters but also include building positive relationships with the community through activities that provide tangible benefits.

“We want the presence of Task Force personnel to also be felt through activities that are closely connected to the needs of the community. When personnel can sit together with children, accompany them as they study, listen to their stories, and provide motivation, positive communication and a sense of closeness can be built,” he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that supporting educational activities was part of the humanistic approach continuously developed by the Task Force.

“The Honai Learning Program is an initiative of the Tembagapura Police Station that we support together. We hope the involvement of Task Force personnel can help create an enjoyable learning environment while motivating children to continue learning and pursuing their dreams,” said the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.

After the lessons ended, the activity continued with a shared lunch. The children and police personnel enjoyed their meals together in a more relaxed atmosphere. No longer focused on reading or arithmetic, the conversation became more casual, filled with simple stories and laughter.

The moment became an important part of the activity. For the children, spending time together after studying provided an experience that police personnel are not only present in formal situations but can also be approachable and friendly figures.

The Free Honai Learning Program at the Tembagapura Police Station is ultimately about more than teaching and learning. It represents a simple effort to provide children with a supportive environment in which to grow while strengthening support for parents in accompanying their children’s education.

For the Tembagapura Police Station, the activity represents a commitment to supporting children’s education in the area. For the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, participation in the program reflects its commitment to a humanistic approach whose benefits can be directly felt by the community.

From reading words one by one and counting numbers to sitting together and sharing lunch, a simple message continues to be instilled: “Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream about the future.”

Through its support for the Honai Learning Program, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 and the Tembagapura Police Station hope the simple learning space will continue to become a place that nurtures children’s enthusiasm, confidence, and love of education.
