Jayapura– The Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK) of Jayapura Regency continues to encourage residents to undergo regular health check-ups as part of efforts to detect diseases at an early stage and improve overall quality of life.

Chairwoman of TP PKK Jayapura Regency, Dewi Sartika Wonda, said that routine medical check-ups are an essential preventive measure, allowing people to identify potential health problems before they develop into more serious conditions.

“We encourage the public to take advantage of the government’s free health screening program. People should not wait until they become ill to seek medical examinations. Instead, regular health check-ups should become a routine habit to help monitor their overall health,” she said.

According to Wonda, regular health screenings also play a key role in raising public awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Early detection enables individuals to receive timely medical treatment whenever health risks or early symptoms of disease are identified.

She explained that TP PKK Jayapura Regency, in collaboration with the local Health Office, continues to promote the importance of early disease detection through the Free Health Check Program (CKG), which is available at public health facilities.

“Early detection is one of the most effective ways to prevent diseases from progressing into more serious conditions. Therefore, we hope that everyone will make use of the available health services as a form of responsibility for their own well-being and that of their families,” she added.

Wonda also emphasized that families play a crucial role in building healthy habits, including maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and undergoing routine health examinations. She believes these simple practices can significantly contribute to improving the overall health status of communities across Jayapura Regency.

Through close collaboration between TP PKK, the Health Office, and other stakeholders, the Jayapura Regency Government hopes more residents will make regular health check-ups part of their daily lifestyle, helping to prevent diseases and ensure earlier medical intervention when needed.
