Puncak, Central Papua – To maintain public security and order, personnel from the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operations Task Force conducted foot patrols and secured Muslim worship services at the Ar Rochim Mosque and the Sinak Market area, Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Friday (July 17, 2026). This activity demonstrates the National Police’s presence through a humanistic approach to provide a sense of security to the public as they carry out their activities and worship.

The patrols were conducted throughout the Sinak Market area, a center of community activity, before continuing with securing Friday prayers at the Ar Rochim Mosque. During the patrol, personnel also greeted residents, engaged in dialogue with them, and monitored the public order situation in the surrounding area to ensure all activities proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly.

The presence of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operations Task Force personnel received a positive response from the community. In addition to providing a sense of security for traders, shoppers, and mosque congregants, the activity also strengthened the relationship between the National Police (Polri) and the community through humane communication. The community also benefited from the presence of security forces actively maintaining security in the Sinak District.

A trader at Sinak Market, who declined to be named, admitted to feeling calmer when officers patrolled the market area. He said the presence of officers allowed the community to conduct their buying and selling activities more comfortably.

“When there are police officers on patrol, we feel more at ease selling. Customers come as usual, and we can work without worry,” he said.

A congregant at the Ar Rochim Mosque, who requested anonymity, echoed this sentiment. He assessed that the security measures during Friday prayers provided a sense of comfort for the congregation, allowing them to worship devoutly.

“We are grateful that our prayers can proceed peacefully. The presence of officers makes us feel safer, allowing us to focus on our prayers,” he said.

Head of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that securing places of worship and community activity centers is part of the National Police’s commitment to providing the best service to all levels of society, regardless of religious or ethnic background.

“The National Police, specifically the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force, is here to ensure that all members of the public can carry out their activities and worship safely, comfortably, and peacefully. Through humane patrols and security at places of worship, we want to build public trust while maintaining public order and security in the Papua region,” said the Head of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operations.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operations, Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that dialogue patrols and security for community activities will continue as a preventative measure to maintain security and stability in the operational area.

“A humanistic approach is one of our priorities in carrying out all our duties. Through the presence of personnel in the community, both during economic activities and religious gatherings, we hope to foster good communication so that security can be maintained and the community feels protected,” said the Deputy Chief of Peace Operations Cartenz-2026.

The foot patrols and security of religious services in the Sinak District are part of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operations Task Force’s commitment to maintaining a safe and peaceful security situation in Papua. Through continued synergy with the community, it is hoped that public order and security stability will be maintained so that all residents can carry out their daily activities and worship safely, comfortably, and devoutly.
